Bus Adventures

Tried to go to a Lake Mendota beach using the Metro system. Ilsa FREAKED. Stroller wouldn't behave. Many people on the bus. Missed our connection. Ended up on campus. Made do. Ate food by the water on a wharf. Juliette asked where the sand was. Fed bread to ducks. Realized I forgot my camera. Kids got their feet (and bottoms) wet. Walked around. Back on the bus to go home. Ilsa FREAKED again, but calmed. Stroller behaved somewhat. Made it home again.

Thus ends my "ride the bus with the kids" experiment, at least until they are old enough to a) understand more words (Ilsa) and b) walk longer distances so we can travel without the stroller. Juliette did great, however. By the end of our trip home, she said "I love this bus, mama." It'll happen someday, just not anytime before spring.
