MOMS Meeting

Today the girls and I made our first social outing to a coffee house called Victor Allen (a local chain) for an informal meeting of the local MOMS Club (Moms Offering Moms Support). MOMS is an international organization that has chapters all over the country, and within each there are play groups for various ages, moms' nights, book discussions, cooking clubs, and baby-sitting co-ops (yay!).

Unfortunately, I will probably not see these women much more, as the west side of Madison is breaking up into two groups, West (me) and Southwest (most of the women there today). Dividing the 60+ members of this successful club will make the numbers more manageable for get-togethers and administration. We will be going to a park playdate on Friday, the last for the two groups together before the September split.

The women seemed great - open, supportive and curious. There were kids everywhere, and luckily the coffee shop had a little play kitchen area for the children. We briefly went to a park afterwards, but Ilsa had had a poor night's sleep and was in desperate need of a nap. She was asleep before we got home. Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting up with my proper group (the West) in the near future!
