First Snow of the Season

Things I learned about walking in the snow with my girls, as we traveled the half mile to Katka's house for an evening visit:
  • Three-year-olds can walk quickly and surprisingly far.
  • (Almost) two-year-olds love the idea of snow but not necessarily any physical contact with snow.
  • Faux fur-trimmed hoods can be nice-looking, but they are terrible for peripheral vision (which is sort of useful).
  • Snow is fun in November. Kids were frolicking. Cute couples were walking together. How sweet.
  • Snow will not be so much fun in February. In a few weeks, I won't see those frolicking kids or cute couples again until April.
  • Steering a stroller on even a half-inch of snow is a silly thing to try.
  • My new parka is the warmest thing ever created for humans to wear.
  • Snowy inclines are slippery and should not be attempted while wearing sneakers.
  • Walking in the snow is a great way for children to get fresh air and exercise... but then you're left with very sleepy, cranky toddlers.
I think we take the car from now on.

Or, just have Kev pick up. :)

We got snow that stuck overnight, so I think we're even. Though we're about 10 degrees warmer. :)

The cranky toddler bit not so good, but the tired toddler bit good. Lily and I left early for school today and were catching snowflakes on our tongues while waiting for school. I really think the first snow of the season is magical... sigh... if I didn't have stuff to do I would so be out playing in it.

Ooo, now you have me looking forward to snow! We have the cold temperatures, so we might as well have the snow. I'm interested to see how Ben reacts to it this year.

From the 20's style lady I assume that it is still snowing there!

My mum texted me yesterday saying that also in our town is snowing much! Unbelievable!
