Tuesday, we went to Katie's house for an informal play date. Katie is working with another MBA spouse, Kim, to run her in-home daycare, so it's really a kid-centered space. Time spent at her house is probably some of the most talkative moments I have because the girls are so thoroughly occupied and enclosed. But then all we talk about is babies...
Wednesday was our bi-weekly MOMS Club playgroup at a play structure in our local mall. Weird. And way, way too far away from the nearest restroom. Katka also came over for some coffee that afternoon, which was a nice break for me. Thursday... was very slow.
Ah, but Friday. Our Friday was an example of how fully realized a day can be. We went dropped Keven off at work for an hour to meet with one of his professors while the girls and I went to the library. Then we picked Keven up, and the four of us went swimming. I'll have to rope Keven into doing that again, because it was far easier handling only one girl at a time - especially now that they are so interested and active. We also stayed an extra half hour than I would have by myself.
When we got home, it was time for food and naps. When everyone was up again, I had to dash off to the doctor and fill my prescriptions, then it was back home for cleaning, feeding, and getting dressed. At seven, with everything finished (!), Katka arrived right on time to watch the girls for the evening. They played with Play-doh, drew pictures, and read stories... and then went to sleep without any hassle. So cool!
Keven and I fled to a bar downtown for a drink (but we'll have to go back there sometime for food because it was really posh) and then rushed over to the Overture Center for Tosca, our first live opera. You can find my review in the Arts Corner. I had a wonderful time playing dress-up and high art for an evening, but it was good to get home, have a snack, and finally get some sleep.
