Juliette's Fourth Dance Class...

Well, this is getting old now - appreciated, but not particularly newsworthy. She was great. I had a better view, peaking in through the classroom door, so I saw her galloping, trying a chassé step that digressed into a full-out run, walking in relévé with arms in first, and holding hands with another girl while they side-step shuffled across the floor. By the second pass, giant Juliette was dragging her more petite partner in another run. She looked out the window several times, but she has yet to participate in the continuing tissue mutinies.

After class, we raced back home to get her changed and our snacks packed in order to make a 10am playdate with Jenn R. and Calvin. Technically, it was not merely playtime, but the first of the Joint Venture Club's monthly Parents & Kids Playdates. Yeah... that's all well and good except that Jenn, the kids and I were the only ones to participate. Everyone else was either busy, non-responsive, or without children. We suspected as much as we organized the event, so our effort was scaled down with our expectations. We did a Valentine's Day craft that I will keep secret for a little while because it'll be one its way to various grandparents next week.

While the kids napped, I went shopping. Saturdays are horrible shopping days, but I find myself curiously zenlike when I stand in long Aldi lines - as long as the girls are at home with Keven. The anxiety sets in with the children + long lines equation. I also picked up eight new puzzles because the girls are crazy for them at the moment. Juliette can finish 25-30 piece ones by herself on the first try. Ilsa likes wooden puzzles even though they are too easy for her now. They were happy happy when I brought the new goodies out after dinner. It was a good night.

It's amazing how calming shopping can be without children.
