Snow Lightning!

I've never seen snow lightning before today. It lights the sky pink, and thunder follows some seconds later. We're expected to receive 10+ inches of snow today, and at the rate it's falling right now, that is not an unreasonable prediction - except maybe on the low side!

UPDATE: UW-Madison is closing the campus as of 4:30pm today, the first time they have ordered an cessation of classes since 1990, when the city received 17 inches of snow in a 24-hour period. We're close to that - at least a foot right now. The dinner I had schedule this afternoon has been, wisely and gratefully, rescheduled. I'll be glad when Keven gets home soon. Last night, upon learning of the approaching storm, I bought milk; that, plus a movie we checked out from the library, will ensure a cozy night in from the cold.

Enjoy your snow! We have only had one real snowfall this year--it doesn't feel like winter at all.
