Juliette's Ballet Recital

In a ridiculous parody of the fine arts, we participated in Juliette's dance recital this afternoon. Along with five other three-year-olds, she got up on a high school auditorium stage and jumped around to "This Land is Your Land" (or, as Keven rightfully put it, "communist propaganda music"). Good enough.

All I wanted from the occasion was for Juliette to keep from crying and not resent the process too much. She was very anxious about the whole ordeal as other we watched other children dance, but when it came time to go with her class to the backstage prep area, she went without looking back. I have it all on video for those of you in the circle, so you'll get to see it by the end of the month.

Juliette may not have learned much actual ballet in the last twelve weeks, but she has gone from crying uncontrollably in a classroom of ten kids to willingly dancing on auditorium stage in front roughly 200 people. Progress!
