Somebody Bring Me Some Water

Keven's job involves a some trendspotting, and the rather freestyle task of identifying oncoming upswings in popular culture sometimes spills into after-work hours. He'll bring home stacks of magazines I wouldn't normally read--and by read I mean "flip through." Sure, I'm suckered into the cover articles. Hmmm... I wonder what's hot in suits this year. (Answer: Generally the guys wearing the suits.) But I did read on Josh Brolin the other day that made me smile, and another about Christian Bale. Nice.

And then there's this photo from April's GQ.Insanely talented and mindblowingly charming Joseph Gordon-Levitt--a radical indie leftie of the most admirable sort--has certainly grown up. And I've always liked Claudia Schiffer, especially her brief turn in Love, Actually.

But we're all friends here, right? You've read "Sundial" (or should have by now) and probably know more about my subconscious than I'll ever feel comfortable discussing face-to-face. That's part of being a writer, I think. So maybe it won't squick you out too badly when I say this pic does it for me. The combination of sexy and playful just dissolves me into a useless puddle.

The rest of the photo shoot is here. Not exactly work safe, but no nudity either.

And now I'm off to work on Scoundrel #3. Some of you know why.

I've been in here too long
The time is now
The chance is now
It's come
And the time has come
And the night is young.
