Checking Facts

While revising a synopsis today, I realized I'd made an assumption about Hitler, the Nazis, and their views on women. I assumed they would've been against women in the workplace, especially in light of the disastrous German economy following WWI. Americans during the Depression became particularly strident against "thieving parasites" who took work from "God-intended providers," so the Nazis probably wouldn't have been any more enlightened.

But then I thought about Leni Riefenstahl. Maybe the advancement of the Reich--using talents from any quarter, as long as they were Aryans who espoused proper views--trumped gender. But no. I got it right.
